I have a history of severe depression. My mom is very against medication and counseling, and reluctantly allowed me to go on the lowest dosage of zoloft. It helped, but now she wants me to go off of it and stop going to my doctor. My fear is that my depression will return. What are the chances of my depression returning, and how can I handle it if and when it does?
I’m 16 with a pretty bad case of social anxiety. My mom has agreed to use medication, though she is alittle hesitant because of repots that this type of medication gives suicidal thoughts to people under 18.
I’ve been to therapy and though it gave me some good pointers that I use everyday to help me through the social part of my social anxiety, it doesn’t get rid of that “worried” filling that I can sometimes feel continuously. That feeling actually consumes my whole mood at times. The therapy has only helped with talking to people, and even then it has only helped alittle.
But I would like to know more about this type of medication before I actually take it. I’m sure my doctor will tell me some stuff too, but how does it actually work? How will it make me feel better?
does this sound like an axiety attck. well im having trouble breathing, this happened in march, september, december and now and it usually lasts for about a week. And my mom refuses to take me to a doctor cause i just went and she already checked my heart and breathing and said it was fine. Wen i think back to september i HATE it wen my mom goes away and the week before or the week that she went away i was havening this problem. And in december the week before i went to the doctors(i am so scared and worried of the doctors) this happened and now i had soooo much school work and i was laying in my bed playing my gameboy DS on sunday night wen i realized how much homework i had and this happened. My homework is almost all done now but now my mom says im stressing out about my breathing. My mom says this is just an anxiety attack cause i DO NOT handle stress very well. so does this sound like anxiety. wen im thinking about something else my breathing doesnt bother. so does it?
I’ve been panicking quite horribly over a bunch of stuff that conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his followers won’t quit talking about and my mother wants to know what my panic attacks are for. I don’t want to tell her because it’ll either worry her to death or make her think I’m crazy. I don’t know what to do…
My mom keeps getting panic attacks.. she’s 47.
