I the last couple of years, I’ve been having a problem that is somewhat difficult to describe. I will do my best..
In small spaces I get very…anxious. There are times when I (irrationally) feel trapped (wearing a jacket in the car, especially if it’s zipped; sitting in the back seat of the car, in between my two brothers; and time I can’t move my elbows/arms; wearing tight shirts; in excessive heat.
The symptoms I get are anxiousness, feeling of helplessness, feeling like I’m just stuck and will never get out, general extreme discomfort, and possibly a slightly increased heart rate. I would say that I come pretty close to a state of general panic. Also, I get EXTREMELY annoyed if anybody talks to me during this time.
So is this an anxiety attack, or something else?
Should I see a doctor? If so, what kind (physical doctor or therapist)?
Thanks.

You should see a counselor or therapist. You should look for one in your area who does Cognitive Behavioral Techniques. You can Google it. It’s basically breathing and scenery techniques to help you relax. If your therapist feels that your anxiety is bad, they might refer you to a psychiatrist so that they can prescribe you with medication. You might want to look for a psychologist too.
yes, u need some xanax, it will help you out
anxiety attack
Claustrophobia?
Sounds like your are having anxiety stemming from situations in which you feel trapped. You may want to see a doctor if this interferes with your daily life. I would say you may have ‘panic disorder’, but go see a psychologist if this continues.
You have to really think about this and actively decipher your own thoughts.
Why do you start getting scared in small spaces?
You might be confused because all small spaces scare you, but maybe it’s something else that connects all small spaces together.
I noticed you mentioned your brothers in the car…
I have 3 brothers…that makes 4 of us and I can tell you being between them was not fun in the car (neither of those 2 idiots could sit int he middle because they fought like little dogs)
Anyway, the situation is not fun… I just found it interesting that you mentioned them… maybe you can do some inner thought work and try to figure it out logically… That’s the problem most people have… they are too lazy to do the dirty work… You have to think and work things out aggressively… not passively ask people who are not professionals for help. Go to a therapist or a doctor before this fear gets too far out of hand.
