Yes this sounds very much like an anxiety attack, you did handle it very well though! Well done. I used to suffer from severe anxiety and was signed off work for almost 2 years with it. the worst thing you can do is worry about it getting worse. I would suggest just keep everything the same as much as you can and handle it the way you did. Taking deep breaths and then exhaling slowly will help calm you down when you feel it starting. I use this technique allot. There are medications you can take such as beta blockers which help deal with the physical symptoms like palpatations, fast heart rate etc. But if you can manage without them then this is better. Anxiety is basically caused from a build up of excessive stress. try to do things to relax yourself as often as you can. Also avoid caffeine, high sugar food and drinks, and alcohol as these are all stimulants which will make it worse.

Have a check up at the dr, but it sounds like anxiety. If you've suffered a miscarriage recently it would cause a lot of stress, as that's a tough thing to go through.
It's really important to eat well during periods of anxiety, as the adrenaline burns off energy more quickly, so you need good food to make up for this. If I skip a meal it also actually causes me to have anxiety, so there is a strong link between anxiety and nutrition.

It could be. Those are some of the symptoms that come with an anxiety attack. BUT, with all you've been through and the meds you are on, it's time to go see a doc. The irregular heartbeat is a red flag.

It sounds like you were in shock and had an attack of some sort.
Go see a physician about those heart beats.
