I have had panic attacks since June, 2008. Something scary happened. Then more stress happened a few months later and I Started getting them regularly. I tried 2 meds – lexapro and adivan. They scare me and don’t seem to help. I try books and videos. I am feeling much better, but still nervous enough that I don’t do things I enjoy anymore. I have less major panic attacks, they are shorter. I want to know if anyone has ever beaten them? Can they be completely cured? I am very frustrated about this.

I have them off and on. Right now I’m in an ‘on’ time, unfortunately. I am sick of medications too, though, so I’m trying something called ‘horse therapy’. Basically, I’m going into a program where I learn to care for and ride trained horses. Apparently this is very soothing, and since I am such an animal lover, I’m excited and more hopeful then I’ve been in years. If you like animals, this may be a good choice for you. I know attacks suck beyond words and I really do feel your pain. I hope you find what you need! Write me if you want to talk more about it.

There is a cure to your panic attacks once you identify why you you are having them. Find out if they are due to stress, lack of sleep, or poor diet. Any of these factors can result in you having a panic attack, once you identify what the cause is, you can make simple adjustments in your life to prevent them from happening again.
I used to suffer from panic attacks also, and once I made small changes in my sleeping patterns, my diet and also reduced my stress levels; I found that I was able to reduce the amount of panic attacks I had and also there severity.
I now haven’t suffered from panic attacks for a number of years and it is down to making small positive changes in your life.
